A MELKSHAM woman with the help of her friends has stepped up her charity fundraising by creating a calendar.
Sarah Bailey has already recently raised £2,500 for Myeloma UK after hosting a ‘Bootcamp in Ballgowns’ event earlier this year. However, she aimed to reach £3,500 and with the help of her friends she has created a calendar which she hopes will push the fundraising over her target.
Sarah said, “My cousin was diagnosed in August 2013 with multiple myeloma. His prognosis was not good. Now with experimental treatment, his odds are getting better all of the time.
“I felt the need to do something, so earlier this year I arranged a ‘Bootcamp in Ballgowns’ event and raised £2,500. My friends wanted to get more involved in fundraising as my initial target was £3500 which is 10% of a specialist nurse’s wage working with scientists to help find a cure, and to help improve the lives of those diagnosed.
“This calendar has been fun to create, and I am in awe of my friends for stripping down and trusting me to make them look good while only showing as much as they are comfortable with. I have also made some new friends through this endeavour too. All the money raised through this site will go towards printing the calendar and all profits will be donated to the charity which has absolutely no government funding and relies solely on the generosity of donations.”
