EM Bryan from Melksham has signed up to take part in the Bath Half Marathon in support of Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW).
Em only began running at the beginning of 2020 and has lost 7 stone in the process. She said: “I’m running the Bath Half for CHSW as a celebration that I’m literally half the person I once was. I picked up the Couch to 5k app and started running to manage stress and improve my health overall. I’ve always held CHSW close to my heart and I’m honoured to be able to do something to help them in this way.”
The Bath Half on 13 March 2022 will be Em’s first half marathon, having previously taken part in the Corsham 10k and the Calne Clock Change Challenge back to back! She says her training is going well and that she’s regularly putting in 10-mile runs. I’m aiming to finish in around 2hrs 25m – I’m more Land Rover than Lamborghini – slow and steady but I’ll get there eventually!”

Heidi Roberts, Area Fundraiser at CHSW, said: “Em’s enthusiasm is infectious, and we can’t wait to cheer her on as she pounds the streets of Bath! The Bath Half is one of our favourite races of the season and as per usual, is a sell out. If Em’s story has inspired you, we have a small number of charity entries available and we would like to invite you to join our team. These places won’t be around for long so act quickly!”
CHSW’s Bath Half places are available for £35 with participants being asked to raise a suggested minimum sponsorship of £185. Sign up at www.chsw.org.uk/bathhalf
