A MELKSHAM woman, has shaved her head to raise £1,000 for the Macmillan Cancer Support charity.
Zoe Forgacs, who works at Boots in the High Street decided to do her bit to support the company’s charity of the year. Zoe took on the challenge in full view of the public, and had her hair shaved off at the store.
She said, “I was such a nervous wreck on the day, I couldn’t stop talking, and when I sat down and started getting it done I think that I was shaking more that the razor!
“I am still glad that I did it. I have had so many people come up to me and ask how it went and how I feel. I just smile and say that it went great and that I was so pleased about the turn out and that everyone has given so much.
“I would like to thank everyone who participated, especially Philip from The Works [who shaved her head free of charge] and the manager from Poundstretcher who came to my aid when our extension cable broke.”
Zoe says that the need to support people with cancer is something everyone can relate to. She said, “If you talk to anyone, they would have known someone who has suffered from it, died from it or they know someone whose family member has gone through it.
“I also understand that they need as much support and help as possible, both for the person with cancer and for their family and friends.”
