PERSON of the Year nominee, Robbie Newton, will be completing the ‘London Classics’ next month which will see him run, cycle and swim around the capital, raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Robbie will complete The London Marathon, as #charitymorphman, wearing a green bodysuit. However, this year he has vowed to take himself out of his comfort zone and add the Swim Serpentine, a 2-mile swim at the Serpentine in Hyde Park and a 100-mile bike ride.
Robbie said, “Running I am fine with as I have done a few events, but I am not a cyclist or a swimmer, so this is going to be my biggest challenge to date! That has to be worth a sponsor! There will be several sacrifices – limited alcohol, fast food, crisps or takeaways and most importantly, lots of training!”
Robbie has already raised £6,120.53 in 2019 via charity auctions and Christmas fundraising for Macmillan at his work, Travis Perkins in Melksham.
He continued, “Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor me and donations will be quickly processed and passed to Macmillan. More information can be found on my page at www.virginmoney giving.com/RobbieNewton I also have sponsor forms at TP Melksham for those that prefer it.”
