PUPILS at Forest and Sandridge School were ‘hopping mad’ last week for an Easter fundraiser.
Children at the school took part in a sponsored bouncy castle hop, in a bid to raise money for a ‘revamp’ of the school’s library.
Speaking on behalf of Forest Friends PTA, Jessica Davis said, “The children had so much fun hopping on a bouncy castle kindly donated for the day by Springbok Inflatables. Everyone got an Easter Egg after their ‘hopping’ as a thank you from Forest Friends for their hard work in collecting sponsorships to help us revamp our library.
The current library set up we have doesn’t meet all children’s needs. Libraries are so important for our children’s metal wellness and with everything that they have had to endure these past few years, we need to make sure it can be a place of reflection but also suitable for group discussion and debating; a place they can let their imaginations run wild and visit distant worlds without disruption.
“That is our goal as a PTA this year is to be able to create a legacy that will help the whole school for years to come.
“We can’t wait to reveal how much the children have raised. Keep an eye out on our Facebook page @FFMELKSHAM for the big announcement.”
