Melksham Choral Society’s foray into Fauré went well at their concert in April, and was enjoyed by both audience and choir members alike.
The society says, “It was good to welcome our regular supporters, and those coming for the first time, to the evening in Melksham United Church, and also French visitors who were here on holiday and seemed quite impressed with our French pronunciation.
“The Spring Concert is always quickly followed by the society’s AGM where Mr Roy Buckland was welcomed as the society’s new chairman. After these formalities, it has been straight into singing for the summer term which this time is focussing on some spirituals and ‘In the Mood Music.’
“The summer repertoire is on the lighter side and the choir will perform these musical items along with solos, duets, and ensembles from choir members at a summer event held in the Rachel Fowler Centre. This will be on our last rehearsal evening of the term which is Thursday 6th July.
“The choir meets on Thursday evenings in the Rachel Fowler Centre at 7.30pm and welcomes anyone who may be interested in joining us, to come along and give it a try.”
