Once again a group from Christie Miller Indoor Bowls Club travelled to Potters Leisure Resort at Hopton on Sea, Norfolk, to watch the qualifying rounds of the 2016 World Indoor Bowls Championship.
The bowlers also had the opportunity to talk bowls to the players and officials.
It was pleasing to see an increase in the number of young players, both men and ladies, competing in the championship and in some cases knocking out the top seeded players. This goes to show that bowls is no longer an older person’s sport and that the skills of youth is challenging years of experience.
The provision of a Bowls Hall within the new Melksham Campus is vital for the future of the Christie Miller Bowls Club and introducing young players to the sport of bowls.
