It’s set to be a scorching summer and local charity Young Melksham have got a range of red-hot activities for young people planned at The Canberra Centre to keep kids busy.
The organisation’s usual youth clubs will continue to run throughout the school holidays and there will be extra sessions running every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons for any young people aged 9 to 16. These afternoon sessions will include fun-in-the-sun with the amazing new slip-n-slide, various sports and a number of indoor games and activities for those with hayfever (and if the sun stops shining!!!).
There are also a number of exciting trips planned with a visit to the beach at Weymouth, cycling on the Jurassic Coast, a visit to Weston-Super-Mare for beach fun and a concert by The Little Mix Experience and, of course, the annual trip to Splashdown in Poole. Full details can be found on their website at youngmelksham.org.uk.
Chair of the Trustees Jon Hubbard commented, “We are really excited by our summer programme this year, it’s our largest ever and we have tried to ensure that the activities we are offering are ones that young people have said they wanted to see”.
Youth work Manager Gemma Connolly added, “We’ve got some great activities planned, the slip’n’slide has proved to be a real hit with the young people and an afternoon at The Canberra Centre will be a great way to chill-out this summer”.
