THERE’S non-stop entertainment at Melksham Assembly Hall with enthralling new shows and live music coming up over the next month.
On Saturday 30th September, local band Female of the Species perform their charity concert raising money for Wiltshire Air Ambulance Airbase Appeal. Tickets cost £10.
On Friday 6th October Canadian comedian Tom Stade brings his ‘I Swear’ tour to Melksham. Since moving to the UK in 2001, Tom has established himself as one of the country’s top comedians with prolific TV appearances on shows such as Live at the Apollo, Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow, Mock the Week, The John Bishop Show, Dave’s One Night Stand and Channel 4’s Comedy Gala.
The “I Swear” tour will see Tom bringing his razor sharp wit, free-thinking vision and laid back attitude to bear on a wide variety of topics. Be warned, he guarantees to tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth! Tickets cost £16.
On Friday 20th October, the Assembly Hall will host Dominic Kirwan in Concert with Lisa Stanley. Firmly established as one of Ireland’s greatest ever entertainers, Dominic Kirwan has hit the road again with a brand new show. Accompanying Dominic on tour is Lisa Stanley, one of Ireland’s top female vocalists.
Dominic and Lisa bring their own inimitable style to the vast and rich musical heritage of their homeland. Mixed with the unique quality as versatile entertainers performing a selection of various musical styles, including, Pop, Country and Rock n Roll. A show not to be missed. Tickets cost £22.
The Melksham Rock ‘n’ Roll Club return to the Assembly Hall on Saturday 21st October with a live performance from The Catfish Kings and DJ support from Jason’s Jukebox. The Catfish Kings describe their music as straight-ahead fifties rock ‘n’ roll similar to Jerry Lee, Chuck Berry, and Little Richard.
Doors open at 8pm and tickets cost £10 each.
On Thursday 26th October fans of the classic 80s film Dirty Dancing can enjoy A Night of Dirty Dancing: The Ultimate Tribute Show. Relive the passion, the romance and joy of the cult classic and celebrate the music of one of the greatest movie soundtracks of all time.
Be part of the glorious summer of ‘63 and experience all your favourite songs such as She’s Like The Wind, Big Girls Don’t Cry, Hey Baby, Wipe-out, Hungry Eyes and of course the Oscar winning (I’ve Had) The Time of my Life. Tickets cost £22.
