Saturday 15th June 7.30pm- Frome Rotary Presents A Charity Concert Performed by Caerphilly Male Voice Choir. The Rotary Club of Frome are pleased to welcome to the Memorial Theatre, the Caerphilly Male Voice Choir. This wonderful choir was invited to perform a concert to raise funds for charity and Frome Rotary president Norman Elmer jumped at the opportunity to help both a national charity and a local good cause.
Caerphilly Male Voice Choir was formed in 1906 amidst the industrial revolution in South Wales. There were 20 members to begin with and it then grew to support the local community at gatherings and occasions. It is now a registered charity with an aim to support charitable functions.
Musical director is Nerys Porch while Cheryl Roberts, guest soloist, has been singing for as long as she can remember, winning many Eisteddfod competitions and training for Margaret Thomas (Birmingham Conservatoire) and Robert Latham. The choir is accompanied by Jane Coles. GDNSM. The concert will be raising funds for Spinal Injuries Association www.spinal.co.uk and Frome’s Josh Payne-Gover.
Performance in the theatre, followed by an “Afterglow” in the Assembly Rooms. Free to ticket holders. Tickets £12.50. Groups of 10+ (box office booking only) £11.50.
