A summer fete and BBQ is being held at Giffords Surgery this month to raise funds for an additional ECG machine.
Residents from Melk-sham and surrounding areas are invited to the event on Sunday 28th June from 1pm to 5pm, with proceeds supporting improved patient care and faster diagnosis.
Visitors can enjoy a wide range of activities, including a BBQ, traditional afternoon cream teas, a ‘Pimp Your Pimms’ station, teddy bear picnic, teddy bear hospital, live music, dancing and gymnastics, a mini disco for younger guests, a bake-off competition, over 40 stalls offering games, crafts and local goods, an arts and crafts competition, glitter tattoos, massage treatments and plants.
There will also be an ice cream van and every attendee will receive a free cupcake.
Health and wellbeing will be a key part of the day, with a blood pressure check tent and live CPR demonstrations.
The Friends of Giffords Surgery are organising the event. Trustee Gillian Elson said, “This event is all about bringing the community together while supporting our local surgery. The funds raised will help us secure an additional ECG machine. The equipment comes at a significant cost of approximately £2,500. Having an additional one will help make a real difference to patient care in Melksham.
“Admission is free and open to all, so bring your friends, family and even your teddy bears and join in the fun while helping improve local healthcare. Everyone registering to attend will receive a free cupcake.”
