MELKSHAM Community Meals is planning to branch out in 2022 at a new venue.

As well as their regular Sunday lunches at the Assembly Hall, the community meals team are planning to use the café at the King George V park pavilion on Saturday mornings as a place for participants of Melksham’s parkrun to meet and as a place for residents to meet their local councillors.
The local organisation, which will be celebrating its third anniversary this month, is also hoping to bring back other daytime sessions, which used to run prior to the pandemic.
Chair of Melksham Community Meals, Sue Mortimer, who is also a town councillor, said, “Melksham Community Meals is looking to bring back some daytime sessions in the New Year and also open a temporary venture at the King George V café, offering free teas and coffees on a Saturday morning for parkrunners from 8.30am to 11am; and also 11am to 12pm for a chance for residents to pop in and have an informal chat with their town councillors.
“The team of councillors this term have many diverse skills and exciting ideas and I know our residents are also rich with diverse skills and exciting ideas, so why not come and share them with us!
“Have an informal chat and a free cuppa, there will also be a suggestion box so you can be anonymous if that’s what you prefer!
“So, if you wish to share your views with our team of councillors do come along. We are just ordinary folk like you all and we won’t bite!”
