THIS year’s carnival is fast approaching and already local businesses have shown their support. But help is still needed to make this year’s event the best it can be.
Press officer, Christine York said, “We already have had a wonderful response from local businesses, but we could always do with more donations or help. It can cost between £6,000 – £8,000 to put the carnival together and we need more funds to book more bands, professional performance groups etc. to make it a real spectacle for Melksham to anticipate and enjoy!
“A lot of the food and drink businesses do quite well out of carnival day, with hundreds of people on their doorstep. It would be great if some of those businesses could help us in some way – maybe with an advert in our carnival programme or a donation towards the cost of putting the carnival together.
“It’s a great chance to show how you support your local town as well and is an ideal advertising opportunity.
“Melksham Carnival brings the whole town together and is loved by so many people, it would be such a shame if we had to scale it back because we didn’t have the funds.
“Thank you to the following businesses who have already shown their support; Gompels Healthcare, Nortree Motors, Belle of the Ball Brides, C & A Embroidery, Cobblers Bench, C.S. Property Services, Flowers in Focus, Libra Hairdressers, Melksham News, Sound Marketing, Waitrose, West Country Jewellers, Andy York and Zoomi Print.
