COUNCILLOR and Chair of Young Melksham, Jon Hubbard, walked 15 miles – the distance from Bath to Trowbridge – on a treadmill at Sainsbury’s Melksham to raise funds for two charities, Hope for Tomorrow and Young Melksham on Saturday 8th August.
After completing the 15 miles ‘hike’, Cllr Hubbard expressed his gratitude to the Sainsbury’s shoppers of Melksham for their generosity and support. He said, “I am delighted, we raised £502 from this event which is astounding.”
Young Melksham and Hope for Tomorrow are joining forces again this year and taking part in the Big Walk fundraising event on Saturday 12th September; visit www.the bigwalk.org.uk for more information and how to get involved.
Cllr Jon Hubbard will be walking the walk on a treadmill again on Saturday 22nd August at Asda, Melksham from 9.30am.
