A local cub group will have the honour of carrying the District Cub Flag at a St George’s Day event later this month.
1st Bowerhill Cubs will carry the flag on Sunday 27th April at their campsite in Jubilee Wood, near Trowbridge, after winning the annual Cub Challenge. The event saw them compete against seven other packs in the district, completing various tasks.
District lead volunteer, Christine Broom, said, “The Cubs had great fun moving from base to base, undertaking tasks such as mini pioneering, communication, first aid, making a card, good food, following trails, backwoods cooking (a method of cooking without using a kitchen or utensils), and science experiments. These activities covered many areas of the Cub programme and included the Team Work Challenge Award.”
The challenge took place on 23rd March, with the winners being 1st Bowerhill Cubs: Archie Porter, Evalyn Janes, Reuben Tasker, Joshua Wellman and Finn Richards.
“All the activities organised by the Leaders Cubs are great fun,” said Christine.
