Dementia Action Week runs from the 20th to 26th May, aiming to unite communities to take action and improve the lives of people living with dementia.
Gaynor Cole, practice manager, has agreed to a group of Dementia Champions using the Spa Medical surgery space to run a Dementia Friends information session on Monday 20th May starting at 6.45pm.
The Dementia Champions are all members of the Melksham Dementia Champions Forum who are trained volunteers and meet regularly to promote and provide information sessions locally.
The Dementia Friends session takes around an hour, providing information about dementia, explaining the five key messages of the Alzheimer’s Society programme and aims to increase understanding and awareness.

Also during Dementia Action Week there will be one of the regular Dementia Friends sessions held at Blenheim House at Shurnhold.
