Melksham Oak Community recently held its annual exhibition displaying work from the Design and Technology department.
Kirstie Jones, Head of Design and Technology, said, “We had a range of products from Year 7-13 on show from food, graphics, product design, resistant materials and textiles. It clearly demonstrates that we have future designers with expert making skills which could be developed into a design career in the future.
“One of our A2 Product Design students has been accepted onto the MOD engineering apprenticeship out of 250 applicants – only 10 got through and a Yr 13 textile student is off to study fashion at Gloucestershire University which is extremely exciting.
“Our new Year 9 students in September will be off to London to the V & A museum to the London Design Festival as part of the National Design Ventura competition, we look forward to researching current designs on the theme of ‘change’,
“The department would like to wish our year 11-13 students good luck on their next path.”
