THIS weekend, the time has come to choose new Carnival royalty as current reigns come to an end. Melksham Carnival are looking for a new Page, Princesses and Queen to take over the royal duties.
Melksham Carnival is one of Melksham’s most anticipated events of the year and you could be part of it. If you are interested in applying for one of the following roles Page (boy, aged reception to year 6), Fairy Princess (girl, aged reception to year 3), Butterfly Princess (girl aged year 4 to year 6), Carnival Princess (girl aged year 7 to 17 years) or Carnival Queen (girl aged 18+) then application forms are available from Andy York in The Littlebrook Centre or by download from www. melkshamcarnival .co.uk
The judging will take place this Saturday, 17th March, at Melksham Town Hall. The juniors competition of Page, Fairy Princess and Butterfly Princess will take place at 2pm during an afternoon tea party starting from 1pm. Entry is £2 per adult with children free. Please bring your own tea cups/saucers/small plates if you wish.
The competition for Carnival Princess and Carnival Queen will take also place this Saturday, 17th March, at 6pm, with registration closing at 7pm. Entry is £4 per person. Advanced entries for one of the positions is £3 which entitles you to free entry into the event. Everyone is welcome and refreshments will be available. There will also be special prizes during the event and all royalty contestants will receive a gift.
