Located in Church Street the Tourist Information Office is not just for tourists. “We are here to help and support many local people and organisations,” said John Ruderman.
“Brochures and leaflets are available in the shop for many holiday destinations. Do drop in to pick up any information you want.
“If you fancy a day out, we have many guide brochures available for local attractions and far away venues such as London and can advise on your travel arrangements.
“We have timetables available for local bus and train services in the shop and our volunteers can also advise you for all your travel enquiries.
“We can also book your tickets for National Express services. If you are an older person or a young person, we have coach cards for sale which give a good discount from National Express.
“If you want to go to one of the excellent shows at the Assembly Hall in Melksham, we have all the information about them and can book your tickets in our shop.
“Available in the shop are a good range of local guide books, brochures, postcards and souvenirs such as keyrings, fridge magnets maps and local honey, jams and pickles.
“We have locally, hand made greetings cards suitable for many occasions
“New in this week we have a selection of products from the Wiltshire Honey Company – a range of candles, fudge and honey gift sets all using the local Wiltshire honey.
“Our local Community bus runs day trips on a regular basis; call into the shop for more details and to book your place.
“If you have any spare time we are always interested in new volunteers at the TIC. The work is not too arduous , you would be helping customers with enquiries, both in the shop and on the phone. Volunteers work for a morning or afternoon and we are open six days a week, so lots to cover! If you are interested please call in for a chat.
