MELKSHAM entrepre-neur, Jordan Daykin, will be the next speaker to inspire debate and conversation at Wiltshire Council’s #EPIC Talks event.
Following another recent successful #EPIC Talks event, Wiltshire Council is already looking forward to the next batch of speakers lined up to inspire debate and conversation – including a local-born Dragons’ Den winner.
The last #EPIC Talk was delivered by Natalie Sherman, founder of the Naturally Social communications agency. Natalie spoke to over 50 people at County Hall, Trowbridge, about the power of social media in creating social good. Wiltshire Council’s #EPIC Talks series aims to stimulate debate and learning by inviting inspirational speakers to share their knowledge.
Next up is Melksham business-owner, Jordan Daykin, on Thursday 29th November at 5.30pm. Jordan hit the headlines at the age of 18 when he became the youngest ever person to win investment on the BBC show Dragons’ Den.
Jordan will share his uplifting story of how he overcame immense obstacles to achieve outstanding success as an entrepreneur. He will share insights from his new book ‘Gripped: My story’, which describes how he came up with ideas for his first business, how a business is built up from scratch, and how his tremendous work ethic and passion for business are at the heart of his success.
Following his talk, Jordan will open up the floor for a Q&A session, followed by an exclusive book signing. Copies of Jordan’s book will be available at a discounted rate of £7 each.
The high quality speakers don’t stop there. Other people booked to appear include Rachel Neaman (29 Jan 2019), a digital leader specialising in digital transformation, skills and inclusion, Margaret Heffernan (21 March 2019), an international entrepreneur, CEO, author and TED speaker and Simon Tyler (23 May 2019), a motivational author and life coach.
Joanne Pitt, director of human resources and organisational development at Wiltshire Council said, “We have got a really diverse line-up of speakers booked and we’re really excited for people to hear their stories, perspectives and inspirational advice. Next up is Jordan Daykin, and clearly anyone who can impress the Dragons and achieve the kind of success he has at such a young age is someone very much worth listening to.”
