ENTRIES are now open to be selected as royalty for this year’s Melksham Carnival.
A special selection tea party is being held at the town hall on Sunday 7th April from 2pm when the royalty will be chosen.
The categories are: queen aged 18+; princess aged seven to 13; butterfly princess, three to six years old; fairy princess, reception age to two years old; and prince, reception age to six years old.
To enter, complete an application form available on the Melksham Carnival Facebook page. The entry fee is £4 with additional tickets for family and friends for the tea party at £3 each. Return your application in a sealed envelope with your entry fee and payment for additional tickets by 29th March to Melksham Town Hall.
The results will be announced at the tea party at around 3.30pm.
For more information and entry requirements, visit the Melksham Carnival Facebook page.
The carnival, one of the highlights of the town’s calendar, will take place on Saturday 13th July this year. It was cancelled last year because the Carnival team couldn’t raise the £3,000 to cover the basic costs.
But following months of fundraising, the event is set to make a big comeback after the team reached their fundraising target.
