Core Church, which advocates Fair Trade in the UK and across the world, will be holding a special Fair Trade event at their Coffee On The Way at Bowerhill on Wednesday 6th March.
Organisers say, “When we launched Coffee On The Way at the village hall in Bowerhill we committed to using only fair traded coffee, tea and chocolate. Every producer at home or abroad deserves a fair return for all the work they put into the goods they grow or make. On the 6th March we will be displaying fairly traded goods that can be purchased in local shops and giving away fair-traded coffee, hot chocolate and tea. Bring this article with you on the 6th and we will exchange it for a free hot drink.
“Coffee On The Way is a social enterprise, re-investing all profits into community activities such as Christmas dinner in the Assembly Hall. We open at 8.30am and close at 4.00pm on the first, third and fifth Wednesday of the month.
“There is something for all parts of the day, starting with morning coffee and a cake, a hot snack for lunch and finishing with afternoon tea. We have regulars who join us for a few hours while others pass through more quickly, but all agree that it is a nice place to meet with friends for a catch-up with reasonable prices and an emphasis on quality. We have plenty of space for more guests, so come and give us a try if you are in or around Bowerhill.”
