A family fun day is being held at Forest Community Centre to raise funds for the centre and to showcase what it has to offer.
The event, at the centre at Bowmans Court, will take place on Saturday 28th June from 12pm to 4pm. A range of activities, including a bouncy castle, games, a raffle, live music, stalls, a bar and refreshments will be on offer for families and residents to enjoy.
Organisers say, “There will be rugby, army cadets, an ice cream van and much more. All are welcome, but please leave dogs at home as we can no longer allow them on the field.”
The event will also host Melksham Carnival’s annual Bonniest Baby competition. Judging will take place between 1pm and 2.30pm, with participants registering and waiting their turn to be seen. Results will be announced around 3pm.
Categories are by ‘age on the day’ and include 0–3 months; 4–11 months; 1–2 years old; and 3 years old to pre-reception. The Queen’s Choice — the Pat Reeves Cup — will also be presented. Entry is £4 per child; cash payments are preferred and should be made on registration.
