The Sarum Avenue Christmas lights display is in full swing after TV antiques star Paul Martin took the honours of turning on the lights on Saturday 30th November.
The community turned out to watch the switching on of the lights, which is once again raising vital funds for the Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance charity.
Last year, the month-long event raised over £6,000 for the charity but this year, residents say the event is ‘bigger and better’ and they are aiming to exceed the funds previously raised.
Along with a dazzling light display illuminating the street, there are more festivities in store this year including an almost full-sized air ambulance on display, Santa’s sleigh with reindeer, Santa’s grotto, snow machines and a fully stocked prize raffle house.
The raffle house and Santa’s grotto will be open with the big man himself there every Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 5.30pm.
Local business Roc and Floss is providing coffee at weekends, where people can enjoy the light displays and purchase a warm cocoa at the same time.
All donations will go to the Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance.
