The fifth running of the Wiltshire 10 race will take place on Sunday 15th February, and this year it is hosting the national championships of the Association of UK Running Clubs.
Over 400 runners are expected to take part in the run which starts from the town’s King George V Playing Fields and takes a certified accurate 10-mile course out around the historic village of Lacock, before returning back to Melksham, finishing alongside the River Avon in the town park.
All finishers of the run will receive a commemorative medal of the event and prizes will also be on offer to the first three men and women to complete the course, as well as to the winners of the V40, V50 and V60 age categories. A special prize will also be awarded to the runner who finishes in 48th place as they would be the 1,000th finisher of the race in its short history.
More details on the run, which is sponsored by the Wiltshire Times, including details of online entry can be found at www.stam pedesports.co.uk
