MELKSHAM’S popular fireworks display is back, after being cancelled for the last two years due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The display, which will place on Friday 4th November at Melksham’s Football and Rugby Club, will be set to wow the community with a spectacular display of fireworks to music.
There will also be food, music, lasers and rides. Both the football and rugby club bars will be open until late.
This year’s display is organised by Distant Thunder Fireworks, a company based in Devizes, who were winners of the British Musical Fireworks Championship in 2019. Owner of the company, Trevor Whichello said, “The last event we did was in 2019 before Covid. Now the event is back this year after the last two years and we are looking forward to surprising people and putting on a display to a mix of modern and classic songs.”
Gates to the event will open at 5.30pm, the fireworks to music will start at 7.30pm for a full 15-minutes. On-site parking is available and costs £3 per car, with proceeds going to Melksham Town football and rugby clubs. A percentage of gate receipts will be donated to the Melksham Christmas Lights Appeal.
