First Love is the new rock musical that is being directed by Justin Haggett of Melksham Music and Drama (MMAD).
This is a completely new genre for MMAD and both the men and the women are rocking it out with songs from Paramore, Andy James, Blink-182, Fall Out Boy, Foreigner and many more. If you know and love the bands then this is a show not to miss – if you don’t know the bands then come along and enjoy a new experience.
The cast have been rehearsing to perfect the singing, dancing and dialogue, as well as building the set at weekends. The scene is set in a rock bar, The Just-Inn. The show follows the ups and downs of the relationships of the friends who meet in the bar, the bar staff are also having romantic challenges.
Justin said, “I had the vision for this show and hoped that the cast would enjoy the challenge. This has given members the opportunity to try something new and step out of their comfort zone and I’m extremely proud of their achievements. Please come along and support the cast as they have worked hard to put this show together.”
The show will take place in the Rachel Fowler Centre, Melksham, an intimate setting for an evening of rock, romance and…well, you’ll have to come along to find out what other treats are in store.
Tickets are on sale and selling fast so to avoid disappointment get your tickets now. Performances start at 7.30pm (doors open at 7pm) on 14th, 15th, 21st and 22nd September.
