DONATIONS of food from a local supermarket  to Melksham Community Meals have been passed on to the local food bank.

Chair of Melksham Community Meals, Sue Mortimer explains, “Melksham Community Meals was selected as the community group to receive a food donation from Lidl at the end of 2020. The donation included a mix of items from the following list; rice, tinned tomatoes, tinned tuna, muesli, biscuits.

“These products have been donated by Lidl customers through voucher sales during November and December, with the total quantity matched by Lidl.

“I would like to say a big thank you to Lidl and all its customers for their support.  Also a big thank you to the store manager from Lidl for helping us load up – it took three trips!

“Melksham Community Meals collected the donations from the store on Thursday February 4th and passed them on to Melksham Food Bank who, as we all know, always (and even more so through this pandemic) do amazing work so that no member of the Melksham community need go hungry.”
