Melksham Food Bank has been recognised for its tireless work supporting local people with a prestigious Asda Community Diamond Award.
The award, which celebrates community groups and organisations making a real difference, was presented to thank the food bank for its vital service in the town — providing emergency food parcels to residents who are struggling to afford basic groceries.
“We accepted this award on behalf of all of our amazing volunteers,” said a member of the food bank team, Kay Perry.
The food bank operates out of Melksham Baptist Church on Broughton Gifford Road and is open on Mondays from 1.30pm to 3.30pm and on Thursdays from 10am to 12pm.
Along with emergency food parcels, the team also run a Lifeline Drop-in, encouraging current and past clients to chat with friendly volunteers over a coffee and get information about local services and support.
