A group of friends has come together to create a ‘Calendar Girls’-style calendar to celebrate the diamond wedding anniversary of local residents Carol and Fred Imrie.
Inspired by the hit film Calendar Girls, in which a group of women pose nude for a charity calendar, the friends— all aged 60 plus — decided to create their own version to mark Carol and Fred’s 60th wedding anniversary.
Ten friends participated in the project, each contributing photos for the special gift.
Carrie Weeks, the organiser behind the calendar, explained, “I was thinking, ‘What do you get for two elderly people who already have everything?’ So, I suggested to our friends that we create a calendar for them. I set up a WhatsApp group called ‘Calendar Club,’ and everyone sent in their photos. It’s a 2025 calendar, and I’m featured in September holding the Melksham News!”
The group presented the calendar to Carol and Fred during a recent visit to Bath. “Our friends absolutely loved it; they thought it was fantastic,” said Carrie.
