PREPARATIONS are well under way for this year’s Melksham Carnival and family fun day which will be held on Saturday 23rd July at the King George V playing field.
Melksham Carnival Committee is very busy putting together the free to enter family fun day which already promises to be a great day for all.
There will be craft stalls, entertainers, vintage rides, a fun fair, face painters, tug of war competitions, carnival royalty, charity stalls, ice cream trucks, plus refreshments. You are also welcome to bring your own picnic.
The day will finish with the much-loved carnival procession in the early evening.
Carnival secretary Beth Dark said, “This year’s carnival day is set to be a nostalgic return to the good old days with a family fun day in the park. We hope this event will have a great family atmosphere and a huge sense of community spirit.
“It is also be a great opportunity for businesses and charities to get involved by having a stall during the day, or joining in the procession.”
Carnival committee member Christine York said, “We would like to encourage businesses and the public to get started on their floats for the procession. It’s going to be a brilliant day and we would love to see lots of people come along.”
Party in the Park will take place the weekend before, on Saturday 16th July. The Carnival committee announced last year that it would be separating from Melksham Party in the Park and would host its own event.
