A speakers club helps and supports people to improve their confidence, by giving them the courage to step outside their comfort zone and do something that is different and challenging.
Sheila Jackson of Melksham Speakers Club explains, “People join us who are shy and lack the confidence to move forwards, and they wish to improve their lives.
“Wishing achieves nothing, activity does, and by the support and encouragement given by the club, speakers who work through our manual find that their confidence builds.
“They often get promotion at work, have no difficulty in communicating in all walks of life, welcome the opportunity to speak at a wedding, or a social function and can find the right and supportive words when their family and friends are going through a difficult time.
“If you are too shy for your own good and wish to have more confidence in everything you do, become an active member of our club and in a short time you will find that your horizons will widen and you will have a more fulfilling life.
“We meet on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month at the Rachel Fowler Centre at 7.30pm. You are welcome, just turn up.”
