Buisnesses in Melksham have been awarded for their displays in the town’s 2026 Gardening Window Competition.
Glow hair salon and Dorothy House were named joint winners of the Melksham Town Council competition.
Glow impressed judges with a wildlife-themed display featuring a birdhouse, water feature, gardening tools and potatoes. Dorothy House created a colourful summer garden scene featuring a ladybird bench surrounded by donated flowers.
The Samovar was awarded second place for a display featuring delicate butterflies, wooden sculptures and bright sunflowers. Third place went to The Hiding Place for its display of handcrafted bunting, painted signs and flowers arranged in watering cans.
The displays were judged by Melksham Mayor Saffi Rabey. She said, “I had a great time judging this year’s Gardening Window Competition. The gardening theme inspired some brilliant displays and it was wonderful to see so much creativity and enthusiasm on show. It was a real pleasure to present the certificates and congratulate everyone who took part. Thank you to all those who got involved and helped make the competition such a success – it’s community spirit like this that makes Melksham such a special place.”
