IT’s nearly time for the town’s spectacular firework display to return, on Friday 3rd November.
The event takes place at Melksham Football and Rugby Club and is set to be a full 15-minute display of fireworks to music that will wow crowds.
There will also be food, lasers, rides and music and both the rugby and football club bars will be open until late.
“This is quite easily the biggest show in the area and not to be missed,” say organisers, Distant Thunder Fireworks.
Gates open at 5pm and the event ends at 10.30pm. Adult tickets (16 and over) cost £10.50 plus a £1 booking fee, children aged five to 16 years old cost £5.50 plus a £1 booking fee. Onsite parking is limited to 200 cars costing £5 per car. All proceeds from parking go to Melksham town football and rugby clubs.
Organisers said, “Parking in the local area is at vehicle owners’ discretion, please be considerate.”
A donation from the event is given to the Melksham Christmas Lights Appeal. “Last year we donated around £700 into Melksham Christmas Lights,” says a spokesperson for Distant Thunder Fireworks.
Following feedback about start times given to the organisers about last year’s event, the fireworks will now start at 7.30pm.
