Shaw CofE Primary School is celebrating following the visit of an inspector last month.
The school received an inspection as part of the National Society Inspection programme for Anglican and Methodist Schools (SIAMS). Mr Kaye, the SIAMS inspector spent the day observing, talking to children, staff, governors and parents and scrutinising documentation. This led him to conclude that Shaw is a ‘Good School’ in all areas inspected.
Simon White, headteacher of the school has written to parents and the community stating;
“I am delighted and proud to attach a copy of our latest inspection report which confirms that we are a good school in all areas inspected. There are many, many positive points covered and the report paints a clear and true picture of the school we know and love. Some of our favourite quotes are;
“Children’s excellent behaviour and care and concern for one another are clearly attributed to the Christian character of the school.”
“Children feel able to try new things and take risks, and talk enthusiastically about times when they needed to demonstrate courage and perseverance in order to overcome an obstacle to learning and make academic progress.”
“School leaders confidently live out the school’s Christian vision and values, exemplifying and promoting what it means to be part of a learning community characterised by dignity, hope and wisdom.”
“Parents, staff and governors talk knowledgeably about “Mission Shaw”, saying it has re-energised the school.”
A spokesman for the school confirms that “Mission Shaw” is a unique concept, only found at Shaw School which gives everyone involved the language to talk about what makes Shaw School special. More details about this concept and a full copy of the SIAMS report can be found on the Shaw School website at shawprimary.com.
