Goodnews Church, is moving its Sunday morning meetings to The Riverside Centre beginning on Sunday 5th January.
GoodNews emerged from another church group that had been meeting in Melksham Town Hall since 1985. The church is unaligned denominationally but is closely connected with many groups locally, nationally and internationally.
It is informal and welcomes everyone to participate in worshipping God and encouraging each other.
Co-pastor Sharon Firth said, “We love to get together, experiencing God’s love and sharing how that has impacted our lives so that we can reach out to others.”
Having met in the town hall until the Covid lockdowns, the church took on the old Fire Station in the Market Place and opened ‘that meeting space’ as a community hub. It has become home to a number of community groups and GoodNews has used it for their own Sunday meetings.
The church is taking a step forward in the New Year. Myles Pilling, one of the leadership team at GoodNews, said, “The Riverside Centre is a perfect setting for expanding the work of GoodNews Church. It will give us much-needed space to grow.”
Co-pastor John Firth said, “We hope this will actually allow us to use ‘that meeting space’ even more effectively for the community, both midweek and at weekends.”
