Proposals for a 200-home development on land between Semington Road and Berryfield Lane have been unveiled as developers prepare to submit a planning application later this summer.
Bellway Homes presented the proposals at a public consultation held at Berryfield Village Hall last month, where residents were invited to view the plans and provide feedback.
The proposed development would cover around 11 hectares. The site includes three agricultural fields, together with previously developed land containing dilapidated Second World War-era buildings and land currently occupied by chicken sheds.
The plans include 200 homes, with 60% classed as affordable housing. The development would also provide green space equivalent to around five football pitches, retain existing public rights of way, create two play areas and include a landscaped park to help deliver the proposed canal link project.
Bellway Homes expects to submit a planning application this summer. If approved, work on the development could begin in 2028.
