THIS year’s Melksham Poppy Appeal will run from Friday 27th October to Saturday 11th November and the Royal British Legion (RBL), are looking for extra volunteers to help.
They are hoping to have tables in Waitrose, Sainsbury’s, Asda, Lidl and Aldi stores, from Monday 30th October until Saturday 11th November, subject to the number of volunteers available.

“This year’s appeal, 2022/23 ends on Saturday 30th September and the total raised is £24,400,” said Royal British Legion member, Trevor Patterson. “The total includes the latest donation of £200 from the Unite union at Cooper Tires, who also donated £200 to kick start the 2023/24 collection.
“We are always looking for new members for the local RBL; we meet at the Foresters Arms pub and restaurant on the second last Tuesday of the month at 7pm.”
