Gracie’s Massage and Beauty celebrates its first birthday!

GRACIE’S Massage and Beauty is celebrating its first birthday this month. Offering head to toe treatments, it is the ideal place to go to feel relaxed and revitalised.

Situated on the first floor at City Fitness, beautician Mirasol offers everything from facials, massages, manicures and pedicures to tanning and waxing. Recently,  deep tissue massages and pregnancy massages have been added to her long beauty menu, both starting at just £25.

Mirasol said, “I would like to say a big thank you to all of my clients across the year. I have really enjoyed meeting new people and I am looking forward to meeting more in the New Year. I would also like to thank my family and friends who have continued to support me throughout the year.

“If you haven’t had a massage or facial before or perhaps you’ve had a bad experience, please come and see me. I’m more than happy to let you see if you would like it before having a full treatment.

“Having a beauty treatment shouldn’t be a one-off treat; a regular massage or facial is so good for you – especially at this time of year when you may be feeling a bit low or run down. A massage can reduce your heart rate, blood pressure and stress hormones.

“I am still offering 10% off your first treatment for new clients and I have recently started a loyalty scheme where returning customers will receive 30%  off their fifth treatment. I also have vouchers available which make perfect gifts – especially with Christmas just around the corner.

“Also, to celebrate Gracie’s first birthday I am holding a competition on my Facebook Page, Gracies Massage and Beauty, where one lucky winner will receive a free one-hour full body massage as well as a 30-minute facial. They will also get free products to take home, worth £100.

“All you have to do is like my Facebook page, like and share the competition post and tag two or more of your friends. The winner will be announced on January 3rd. What a great way to start the new year after the stresses of Christmas!”

Gracie’s Massage and Beauty Salon: 1st Floor City Fitness, 69 Roundponds, Melksham, SN12 8EB.

Free parking, open Monday-Saturday from 9.30am, flexible appointment times available. Vouchers and loyalty scheme available.

  • Council calls on Government to rethink Melksham bypass decision

By Local Democracy Reporter Peter Davison

Someone is killed or seriously injured on a notorious stretch of the A350 roughly once every 11 weeks, a senior councillor has said, as Wiltshire Council demands the Government rethink its decision to ditch funding for the Melksham bypass. During an emergency debate at full council on Tuesday 20th October, councillors overwhelmingly backed a motion condemning the decision and demanding continued investment in the key north-south route. They also called for the more than £500,000 the council has spent developing the scheme to be refunded.

  • Gompels submits detailed plans for new warehouse

Gompels has taken another step towards building its new warehouse in Melksham after submitting a detailed design of the scheme to Wiltshire Council. The reserved matters application covers the scale, layout, appearance, landscaping and access for the proposed development on land south of the A365 Bath Road and west of Turnpike Garage. It follows outline planning permission being granted earlier this year for the warehouse and office development, which the company says will be a major investment in the town and create hundreds of jobs.

  • New book brings forgotten RAF Melksham history to life

The history of Melksham’s former RAF station is being brought to life in a new book exploring its role in training thousands of service personnel during the Second World War and beyond. Written by retired RAF Wing Commander Rob Cumming, RAF Melksham: Its Beginnings, Life and Re-creation traces the beginnings, working life and eventual re-creation of the station, which opened in 1940 and closed in 1965. Rob began researching the history while working with Melksham Remembers, a local history group. “It became clear that while thousands of airmen and airwomen trained and lived at RAF Melksham from its opening in 1940, its existence is rapidly fading from the community
