A GROUP of friends from Melksham recently took part in The Rainbow Run, raising £574.50 for Children’s Hospice, Charlton Farm.
Heidi Collison, with friends Gemma, Ilona, Keileigh, Carrie and Emma, took part in the run on June 20th wanting to raise as much money as possible for the hospice in Bristol.
Julie’s son Liam has ectodermal dysplasia and is severly visually impaired. He also suffers from epilepsy and has limited mobility. Julie has previously raised money for Charlton Farm, who provide care for children with life-limiting conditions and their whole family across the South West. The care is wide ranging; respite and short breaks, emergency care, palliative care and end of life care.
Heidi said, “I’m her circuit instructor at Curves and I have a son around about the same age so I wanted to offer my support to Julie and her son Liam. Liam comes to Curves with his mum and he’s such a happy, charming boy. I haven’t ran since school but I really enjoyed it! We plan another run in October raising funds for Liam.”
