Melksham Family of Churches will be holding its AGM on Monday 12th February at 7.30pm in Melksham United Church.
“Representatives from local churches will attend, and we will receive reports from groups working closely with Melksham Family of Churches, such as Hope Debt Advice, Foodbank, and Prayer on the Street, as well as the Chairman’s overview of 2017, including Bless Melksham events,” reports S Pearce.
“This year, our guest speaker will be Val Huxley, CEO of People Against Poverty, a ‘global community of the like-minded, an independent charity whose shared intention is to alleviate poverty and suffering around the world’.
“Their aim is to release communities in the UK and abroad from poverty; they do this by forming communities that use their energy and resources to impact on the lives of the poor within their international and UK projects. People Against Poverty focuses on engaging the whole community with a view to them eventually taking control of their own environment, lives and well-being.
