Melksham Ranger and Oak Community pupil Maisie Marchant, aged 15, recently organised a Guiding’s Got Talent competition for the members of Melksham Brownies and Guides.
Brownies and Guides who wanted to partake originally auditioned at their unit meetings, where three independent judges decided which acts would go through to the final.
The competition final show was held on Saturday 22nd November at the Girl Guide HQ, Melksham. Acts included singers, dancers and a magician. All of the acts were girls aged between seven and 10 years old, and provided an amazing show to a packed audience.
The show was compared by Ethan Smith. Judges were Jim Avery from Melksham Ukulele Group, Aimee Cooke from local band Run For Cover and Ashlea Forgacs.
First prize was awarded to Laura Elford from 5th Melksham Guides for her wonderful dance to the music ‘Fault in our Stars’. Second prize went to Katie Biggs from 3rd Melksham Brownies, for her brilliant magic act, and third prize went to Sienna Mundy from 3rd Melksham Brownies, with her rendition of Meghan Trianor’s ‘All about that Bass’.
A donation of £66 from the event will be donated to Melksham Christmas Lights.
