VOLUNTEERS are needed to help make flags to be hung in the Market Place later this year, to celebrate the 800th anniversary of the Melksham Market Charter.
Work began late last year on the flags which will have a medieval design to coincide with the anniversary celebrations in September.
The next flag-making session is this Saturday, 19th January, from 1pm until 3pm, at the Town Hall.
One of the organisers, Terri Welch says, “For 2019 we want to make medieval flags to decorate the Market Place. This year is the 800th anniversary of the Melksham Market Charter and special events will take place on the weekend of 28th and 29th September to mark the event.
“We would welcome anybody who enjoys design or sewing, not that these are the only skills needed. So come along and play your part in the decoration of our town.”
