POPULAR Market Place pub, The Kings Arms Hotel, is to remain closed for the forseeable future.
Owners of the pub, Wadworth, have told Melksham News that ‘new ways of working’ and ‘social distancing’ restrictions are behind the decision to keep the pub closed, and that there is currently no timescale for when the pub might be reopened.
A spokesperson for Wadworth said, “Now that we have received the government guidance for pubs to re-open we are opening our pubs on a phased basis from 22nd July. We expect, by making our pubs Covid-secure, they won’t be trading at 100% for some considerable time.
“The social distancing and new ways of working will currently impact some sites more, including the Kings Arms, and therefore we have made the decision to keep those pubs temporarily closed. We will continue to review this situation.”
The Kings Arms Hotel has been closed since 20th March when lockdown restrictions began to be introduced.
