TWO local red telephone boxes have been successfully adopted by the town council for use for community projects.
The council plans to meet with local group Melksham in Bloom to discuss the next steps to transform and refurbish the telephone box on Spa Road, opposite Giffords Surgery, and the telephone box on Littlejohn Avenue, next to the Pig and Whistle pub.
Plans for the telephone boxes are yet to be confirmed, but at a council meeting last December, Melksham in Bloom had proposed a plan to use the telephone box in Spa Road as a space for plants.
The council also intends to seek third-party funding to support the project.
