A talk exploring the archaeological finds that were discovered when the Campus site was being developed is to be held next week.
The event, on Thursday 21st September at the Melksham Assembly Hall, will include looking at artefacts dating back to the Iron Age (700BC to AD43). It is being organised by Melksham District and Historical Association.
Finds during the work on the Campus included four ox shoes, locally made early Iron Age pottery fragments, Romano-British ‘tegula’ fired clay roof tiles and Medieval and post-medieval (AD1540 to AD1800) waste pits which contained artefacts including iron knives and pottery.
Cotswold Archaeology who found the artefact will be delivering the talk. The event starts at 7.30pm and costs £3 for visitors to attend.
