A Holt woman is taking part in the annual Walk of Life this month to give back to the Royal United Hospital, which is currently treating her for breast cancer.
Cat Banks will take on the challenge on 17th May, walking 26 miles along the Kennet & Avon Canal to raise vital funds for the hospital caring for her following her breast cancer diagnosis last September.
By doing the walk, Cat – a mum of four – wants to ensure that others who find themselves in her position receive the same level of care.
She said, “I would love to be able to give back to the hospital and help in any way I can, in the hope that people facing a diagnosis or needing medical care going forward can have the same experience that I have.”
“I have been so amazed by the care I have experienced from every member of the team at the RUH I have encountered. I count myself very lucky to have received such amazing medical attention and care throughout my journey so far.”
Participants are asked to raise £100 to help the hospital do more for patients, families, staff and the wider community.
The Walk of Life is organised by RUHX, the official NHS charity of the Royal United Hospitals Bath.
