RESIDENTS from Hazelwood Road are celebrating the end of their project to replace the overgrown and dangerous pathways in Brunswick Park.
Work was completed on the paths last week and a party was thrown in honour of all the volunteers who had given up their time since the end of August to carry out the repairs.
Chair of the Friends of Brunswick Park group, Tracy Haslam said, “Thank you to all the residents and volunteers from the surrounding area who have turned out during thick and thin, rain and shine, helped mid-week and at the weekends. It’s been absolutely amazing, I’ve been overwhelmed by the support.
“Thank you also to Wiltshire Council and their contractor, idverde, and to cllr Jon Hubbard for his support throughout the project.”
The new paths were made possible when Tracy was awarded £4,000 after applying for community funding through a scheme called ‘Your Pint Can’ run by Carling and Wetherspoon.
Whilst the money paid for all the materials needed, Tracy reached out to the community to help her with the labour to dig up the existing pathways.
