A BEGINNERS’ running group is being formed by Wiltshire Council’s run activator, Amy Chalk, to help complete beginners start exercising.
There will be social, fun sessions on a weekly basis to help motivate you to become fitter by walking or jogging for 45 minutes.
Amy Chalk said, “It is all done in a fun, friendly and supportive manner. You can even bring the buggy if required, but the event will happen come rain or shine!
“The health benefits of walking or running are wide and varied, they affect and improve both psychological and physical wellbeing. The session will be a mixture of some walking and jogging.
“The aim for this group is to introduce people to running over a 10-week course and hopefully create a pathway into the local parkrun and other running groups and clubs. Come and join us!”
The first session will begin at Melksham’s King George V Park on Wednesday 25th April at 9.15am outside the pavilion. It will then run every Wednesday during term time. The group is free to join.
