HAVE you been creative during lockdown? Have you been getting into painting, drawing, crochet, knitting, sculpture, woodturning, weaving or any other form of creative expression? If so, you could showcase your work in your very own exhibition space!
Melksham Town Council report, “Melksham is being invited to join a growing collection of people exhibiting their creations in their windows as part of the Lockdown Window Exhibition Challenge.
“The project was started by artist Tanya Achilleos Lock, from the Tithebarn Gallery and Workshops in Bradford on Avon, who said, ‘The idea came from seeing all those rainbows in the windows. I thought, why can’t a similar thing be done to support local artists?’ By joining in, you can help make everyone’s daily walks more interesting, while showing off your creativity.
“You don’t have to be a professional to get involved. Just join in with these five easy steps:
1. Let us know you’re taking part so we can email you the Melksham window sign and add you to the map.
2. Display your work in a window visible to the public.
3. Print out the window sign and include it in the display window.
4. Take a photo and send it to the facebook page.
5. If you have enough art to display, you can change your exhibition every week and send in a new photo each time.
“We will create a map for Melksham showing all participating exhibitors, that can be updated as more people get involved.
